Tata Motors has also changed its blockbuster SUV with the launch of Harrier EV, which is an outnumbered adventure in the future of electric mobility. The Harrier EV is a reinvention as it came with muscular stance, futuristic styling features and top of the line technology.
Engine
Based on the new Tata Acti. EV platform, the Harrier EV uses a two-motor arrangement in the higher trims, and has an all-wheel drive feature. The motors achieve up to 390 bhp and 505 Nm of torque, being one of the most powerful electric SUVs in the given segment. The smooth drivetrain is one designed to provide nimble handling and off-road security, with terrain modes responding to rough, wet and normal settings.
Performance
The Harrier EV acceleration is brisk and silent with boost mode giving overtaking and highway cruising instant torque. The refined multi-link rear suspension gives a stable ride, the regenerative braking is both efficient and does not lose any quality of control. The steering is suitably adjusted and has a light and easy command in city driving and confident weight at higher speed.
Mileage
Tata asserts a range of between 538 to 627 km depending on the model and battery pack ranging between 65 kWh to 75 kWh. Real-life experience indicates a realistic range of more than 500 km, thus appropriate when it comes to long-distance venturing. The quick charging is between 20 to 80 percent in 45 minutes and the home charging will be an overnight deal.
Comfort
The interior of Harrier EV is luxurious and roomy. Touch sensitive textures, mood lighting, and two tone dashboard also add value to the cabin. The seats have been cushioned to allow arm space and the passengers in the back seat have all the leg room they need alongside their personal climate controls. Amenity is also highly democratic and includes features such as Level 2 ADAS, a cinematic touchscreen, and a digital cockpit trading off a softer ride on different terrain.
Price
According to its price, the Harrier EV would be available between ₹21.49 lakh to ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom) across the variants4. Tata pricing sits right in the sights of ICE-powered SUVs and the new model is a strong contender with better performance and has reduced running costs. Up to 1 lakh discounts have been available on upgrades to the Harrier EV by old Tata EV owners during festive periods.
