The Jimny has always been a cult car in the context of off-roaders and now with the five-door India-spec one it is ready to become a flexible friend on both local commutes and long-distance caravans.
Engine & Performance
Powering the Jimny is a 1.5-litre K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine which manages 105 PS of mechanical power at 6000 rpm and 134 Nm of pulling force at 4000 rpm. The option is presented to the buyers between a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Although not designed as a high-speed cruiser, the engine of the Jimny model is set to run equally and smoothly and this feature makes it more convenient in terms of manoeuvring through traffic in the city and in climbing up and down hills. Its Suzuki 4×4 all grip pro system and ladder frame chassis keeps it very stable and maintains good traction even on a gravel road.

Mileage
The fuel economy is commendable in an off-road motorized vehicle of a small SUV type. Manual has a mileage of 16.94 km/l and the automatic can give 16.39 km/l. The Jimny has a 40-litre fuel tank that makes long drives to be possible without the need of regular trips to the gas station.
Comfort & Interior
Although it has a tough DNA, the Jimny does not come short of comfort. The cabin comprises a robust dashboard that is bulky offering a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control ad automatic climate control. Seating is both upright and supportive, headroom is high and the driving position is commanding. Rear seats accommodate two adults ideally and Java type boot storage of 219litres would take weekend luggage. Ride quality is remarkably good, especially in a body-on-frame SUV, and the potholes and undulations found on city or highway are tackled without nervousness.
Price & Value
The Jimny will cost ₹12.76-₹14.81 lakh (ex-showroom), according to the variant. The on-road prices in Delhi prices are between ₹13.84 lakhs to ₹16.16 lakhs1. Although not the least expensive in terms of its segment, the Jimny is unparalleled in the off-road performance, strength of its construction, and unique style to boot.
