Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin are two urban hipstery styles of motorcycles, which could be used as a daily commuter and Sunday mountain explorer. Both of them are charming and rather convenient, but with the slightest difference in the mode of riding. So how do they stack up.
Engine & Performance
Hunter 350: It is built with a 349cc air oil cooled engine that generates an output power of 20.2 BHP and 27 Nm of torque. It is set up to favor comfortable cruising, then smooth thumping and muscular low-end bark.
TVS Ronin: This Sports has a 225.9cc Oil cooled engine with a capacity of 20.1 bhp and 19.93 Nm of torque. It is a zippier car with an instant response around town.
Both bikes have a 5-speed gearbox however the Hunter seems more planted at high speeds and the Ronin more blistering at stop and go.
Mileage:
Hunter 350: It provides an approximate 36.2 km/l, which is efficient accordingly whenever one is cruising on a highway.
TVS Ronin: The lighter construction and shorter gearing will show more miles per gallon, with a record of 42.95km/l in city conditions.
Ronin reigns supreme, however, when fuel economy is of primary concern, at least in city driving.
Comfort & Ride Quality
Hunter 350: A seat is lower (790 mm), more sporting riding position and stiffer suspension. Perfect for single riders that want to have some more engaging feel.
TVS Ronin: Upright posture, broader and padded seat as well as USD front forks and monoshock rear. It is preferable in terms of longer journeys and having as a pillion.
The Ronin is more relaxed in its ergonomics whereas the Hunter is able to attract people who prefer to feel more in touch.

Hunter 350: Price begins at 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
TVS Ronin: begins at 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Ronin is cheaper and has relatively new features such as Bluetooth connectivity and LED lighting whereas the Hunter is comparatively retro with the Royal Enfield styling and on-road presence.
Verdict
Better fuel efficiency, light handling and comfort make the TVS Ronin shine in urban urban applications everyday in the city. The hunter 350 has a smoother ride and even stronger torque especially when traveling long distances. Both bikes are perfectly good vehicles but one is more inclined to modern technology and the other to classic beauty.
